Had a good Take up of membership! I just hope that the members are
Up for it.
I had a word with all of them individually as it adds the personal touch
And let’s get it right the truth.
The head cheeses visited our site today (coffee morning) they called it
Told us, its all going well but there is room for improvement? And we will get a lot busier as DHL exel sub a lot of there work out that will Stop! And come our way!!!
Its amazing what the threat of a ballot will bring out in a anti union busting company
- Weekly keep up with Cris
- Visit from the top cheese
- Managers trying to be nice!
I just wished that there were drivers and myself available for this so called coffee Morning!
Have to say our Members never fell for it!

Red Ken

Asda now paying all employees same rate of pay. This means a 16 year old straight out of school with little or no work experience will be earning more money than us idiots working for this cowboy outfit. The minimum wage is catching us up very quickly and after this joke three year pay deal DHl will have to pay us more anyway because we will be getting paid less than the minimum wage.
Bring on redundancy and let the muppet company pay us all off then we can go get a decent job with realistic pay for what we do.
Hatfield Depot - H&S issues
Warehouse worker still in hospital
18 October 2006
A WORKER remains in hospital after an accident at a warehouse. An investigation by the Health and Safety Executive into how he received the serious injuries is currently ongoing. A spokeswoman said they were unable to confirm what caused the accident until they had spoken to the injured man.
The employee, who is in his 30s, is currently in the Royal Free Hospital, London, where his condition is described as stable. A spokeswoman for DHL in Hatfield, where the accident happened, said they remain in contact with his family and are following his progress. As reported in last week's WHT, another worker was injured in a separate incident on the same night. It is believed the agency worker tripped and fell. He was taken to the QE2 Hospital, WGC, with head injuries in the early hours of October 6.
He was treated and released the same day.

Meltdown, where are the management?? They cant be bothered to tell us what is in the pay deal. There are still some good GMB people on this site, the leaflets they have shown me, shows the GMB are speaking the truth, and that pay offer from the management is the last straw to casualise us all. Well if the GMB do go on strike, I am coming back and will join you!!!
At the moment, I am sat in the canteen along with my buddies.................not moving a wheel!!!!

Well its all kicked off this morning!!! After trying to get our UDW rep to do something over the pay offer and get management to meet with us, to explain what is going on................it appears our rep who is now a manager needs to get off the fence. The GMB information put around our site shows that management are not telling the truth.
We demanded that unless the Regional manager cam and talk to us, we will sit in the canteen until he does. No wagons are rolling this morning!!!! We hear frank Minal from the GMB is coming to our site on Friday, some of us are definately going to turn up to listen to what he is going to say. GMB action at last.........we have been waiting for it for years, this time dont let them get away with it!!!!!

I wonder if other folks are seeing this....
I had to use a Sprinter last night as my Cargo has a busted spring. I was amazed and shocked at the general state of repair of this vehicle. The rear door shut line gives the clue. The left-hand door machanism has torn away from the frame and been tack welded (if that's the term for crow-s**t spatter. The result over time is that the internals have become misaligned and now do not activate the door. Imagine my irewhen I tried to open them to load up....
Of course, it HAD to be the door immediately facing the load belt to make it extra difficult.
Also, the ramps we use are broken (yet again) but we can't get them fixed 'cos the 'Boss' hasn't paid the bill to have them made in the first place. They've been 'down' now for over two months.
It's enough to make you here we are, a multi-national, multi-faceted, modern (tell me when I am bullsh*tingtoo much) company and they can't (or won't) maintain the tools we need to do the work
Perhaps each of us should examine his or her workplace and report to their reps, or through the forum on this toipicwhere they feel the company is being 'lightweight' about maintenace.
t IS important - there may be safety issues, but if DHL want to sell us off, the better the quality of our tools, the more likely we are to stay open for business.
Phew Rant over

| just a quick note of support to you and your lads at Winsford from all at anglesey,as we know were you lads are comming from and feeling.
llandudno lads feel the blue print used toclose their branch is being imposed on you and god knows who next.the general feeling here at anglesey is they will be back for a second bite at the cherry with regards anglesey.
As i have told you they are already pushing the self employed issue with the lads here ,so that will be the next push to get if any remain onto prp and self employed.
the company are hell bent on stiffing all ,particually securicor sites.we are all in the firing line till none are left.
keep the faith and the fight and dont let the B-----ds grind you down

Our Terminal/Hub refused to allow Eddy Parker on site, so the meeting was held in the pooring rain (again) with members and the NNC rep.
Still bad news on proposed redundancies but the fight is on.
Make sure the GMB have your correct home address. They might need it soon.

It appears Winsford Depot is the first of many depots to lose drivers. If you look in your booklet we were given at Manchester on the 25th, you would see the first set of branches to lose staff, Winsford was one of these.
The company are branding our GMB NNC as liars as you can see they are not.I believe Winsford has or is about to recruit franchise drivers ,this must be wrong. You can be sure they will target new starters ,not drivers who have been there to long as it would cost them too much.

It don’t matter what they want to call us blue, red, freight, express, logistics !!! We are GMB- DHL and we will stand together or fall together!!!
When I meet most of you at conference we shake hands and say hello brother/sister And that means a lot to me! Were a family!!! And families stick together.

| Well to say i am a bit shocked at the company pay offer is an understatment ,iam on my way into work to tell the lads and girls the company don't give a sh*t about them ....and they will be getting a pay cut not a pay rise as they will be losing xmas bonus and parcel allowance....what a bloody company
remember if we don't stand up now and take them on we will not be here this time next year!!!!

I take it that FINAL OFFER means its the last one before they make us all redundent ???
Been puzzling over the figures and the increase given does not add up. is there anyone out there who can explain it ? I dont trust Company figures or calculations !!!
AND who the hell came up with BANKING HOURS, they must be complete BANKERS.
I will reject it anyway, no point in having a rise if it means you loose all of your work mates!!!!

| After investigation(s) into allegations from staff of harassment and bullying, shortfalls and improper goings on from senior management at Preston SVC, the manager has eventually paid with his job. The manager has departed company with DHL.
Is this departure solely down to the management style adopted by this SVC manager or is it down to managers being given so many pressures from above regarding cost cutting, budget projections and the introduction of Franchise drivers that are forcing these managers to make costly mistakes. I hope these cost cutting measures are not at the expense of our members jobs or even Health and Safety !
However, with our differences aside I do wish him well for the future he is at the end of the day a married man with young children to support.
